Ive got a problem with Russells Maitland street in bloemfontein.i bought a bed its not even a year but already its making a noise, now they want 2 give me a base that is different from the matress.My question is why cant they change whole thing because i cannot have 2 different colours white matress and brown base.now they told me if i dont take the base they gona cancell my complain.

  12. the people working at the Knysna branch has got NO idea how to work with customers! no telephone skills what so ever. Lizette/Lizelle phoned me, my brother and mother-in-law to confirm if they know me. not saying who she is, why or from where she’s phoning from. my mother-in-law is 80, she thought I was in an accident or something. I then spoke to Lizette/Lizelle about it, and she got cheecky with me!! My washing machine was 3 days old when the spinner gave problems. I have it for 1 week now. I phoned and said I want another one. “yes mam” I had to ask what will happen days later. I also feel like returning it and getting my deposit back. I want to get feedback very soon!

  15. i purchased a lounge suite a few months back, so called a GOMMA GOMMA suite. the quality was terrible. for no apparent reason it started to tear slightly on the side. i phoned russels store which picked it up and never return it as yet (A MONTH AGO. where can i get my money back cause your services are absolutely terrible. p.s please come take the rest of your stuff

  16. Selina bought a TV from Russels Benoni…25 June 2009 – she asked that the TV should be delivered at her home in Groblersdal. The TV was delivered last week Saturday….but it does not work. Leonie from Benoni store…or Heleen from Groblersdag cannot seem to solve the probleme. Please help….how can they sell a TV and it is not working. According to Heleen it was working in her office…..so it is actually a second hand TV – how dare they sell a second hand TV for R10 000.00! 00868-021181-22

  18. I have spent probably R100k with Russels. For 5years now i have been complaining about defective Mercahndise, 2months ago it was collected for repair, 4 days later same problem, [I refuse to pay!!!!!] numerous complaints at branch level, H.O. level, the Furniture Traders Association, and still no responce.Now only to find that I have been listed on the CREDIT BUREAU!!!!!!! I have very intention of LISTING RUSSELS and then we will see, This has resulted in me loosing my JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! Russels at all levels sucks, remember one thing the wheel turns and you and your staff guilty of negligence will suffer the LAW OF RETRIBUTION!

    NOTE: The gentleman who repaired the Merchandise says that most of these goods came in for repair, says a lot about the supplier whom RUSSELS BUYS FROM, APPARENTLY THE COMPANY NO LONGER EXISTS.

    Hopefully some power that be will read and react to this comment, probably not. I will probably fall down dead should i get a responce!!!!!!!!!!!Russels practice what you preach!

  20. Di diens by Russels Ellisras is power!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ekt ‘n bed en yskas CASH gekoop. die yskas was vol skrape en dit het nie reg koud gemaak nie. En toe kom die gewag, elke dag is dit more sal die yskas en die bed afgelewer word. Uiteindelik toe ek menige oproepe gemaak het, het slegs die bed hier opgedaag. Toe is dit weer die ou storue die gewag……. Ek gaan sien die manager en se ek soek my geld terug en toe se sy dis oukei en die verkoopsman het dieselfde gese. ‘n verkoopsdame het die situasie gered en 2 dae later het ek die yskas gekry wat nie dieselfde is as wat die vorige een was nie, Ek sal nooit weer byh Russels koop nie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a computer from one of your branches.Within two weeks the machine had stopped working,I then took back to the shop,where they sent it to be fixed,within 2 weeks they called and said it was fixed,only 2 find that my moniter had been changed,whereas the moniter is nt the one which was broken,2 make matters even worse that moniter was nt even working,so nw i have 2 wait again for a competer i hardly used. Am I expected 2 make payments for pc i hv never used?The least the store cn do is gv me a new machine without problems,in dat way,i gladly make my payments.

  26. WOW! I also purchased a TV from Russels and arrived just in time to find the sales rep boxing the display TV. We recieved another TV 3weeks later which is now giving display problems? We only made one payment and already we have problems.

    My account was also mismanaged due to additional service fee’s charged, which was suppose to be included in my monthly installement.

    Shocked at the poor service and tired of complaining, I am returning all goods and will not pay anything further.

    However, I have one last thing to say. NO company can keep on existing with such poor performance. Bad management. I suggest all Russels staff open there eyes and abort ship before… (just a concern)

  27. I bought a lounge suit (3seater and 2 seater with an option of purchasing a single seater in addition) from Brixton Branch on credit.
    I committed myself in having the full set after having been promised that it will take about a week to deliver the single seater as it was not available on stock.I am paying my instalments every month,the so called senior lady is arogant.For the past 3 months i have been paying and the single seater is still not delivered,I am not sure where I can go to claim damages.

  28. I am now on ITC with a judgment on my name even though I settled my account 16months before it was due. I phoned and enquired and was told that i will be cleared as it was a wrongful listing, to this day my name is still on ITC. And they delivered broken things to my house to a 6 year old who was made to acknowledge delivery of those broken goods. the saleslady told me to accept them because she will send people to come and fix them. I wouldve gone to a pawn shop if I wanted second hand goods. Russells is one major headache shop,unreliable,untrustoworthy and they destroy people’s lives.

    I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A LADY CALLED MARETJIE AT THABA NCHU BRUNCH. SHE IS A VERRY ROOD AND LIKE TO THROW AROUND ALL TREDS LIKE SHE IS THE OWNER OF RUSSELS. IT ALSO SEEMS LIKE SHE HAS INVLUENS ON HER MANAGER. IM TELLING YOU THAT LADY WILL LET RUSSELS LOOSE CUSTOMERS. I WAS ONCE IN THE STORE AND THERE WAS A CUSTOMER WHO NEEDS HELP(EARLY SATURDAY)SHE SEND THE CUSTOMER HOME EVEN SAYING THAT WHAT THE THE LADY NEEDED WILL TAKE TO LONG FOR HER SHE MUST GO HOME AND COME BACK ON MONDAY WHILE SHE WAS SHATTING IN THE OFFICE WITH THE MANAGER.I REALLY THINK SHE IS NOT GOOD FOR RUUSELS BUSSINES AT ALL.

  30. I will never again get anything from Russels, the service is pathetic!!!!!! Firstly when I went to go get finance I asked that no delivery be charged for as I will come fetch it, then they phined a week later to ask where they can deliver, after I had told them yet again that I do not require delivery. Then when I asked for delivery on the saturday they said it would be fine, on the thursday before the delivery was suppose to be done I doulble checked with them and i was told they could not deliver on saturday so it will have to be the friday. When i complained it was said that they would make a plan for saturday. Saturday came and only at 7pm did I get a call that they were infront of my unit, which was not the right unit…. or the right complex or the right area… then when it did finally arrive not all my furniture was there. During the week after the manager phoned and said that he will personnaly deliver the rest to me which he did not… I phoned the next day and he said no they will deliver it that day… they did but the driver phoned me about ten times asking for directions and put the phone down in my ear about 4 out the 10 times. then my fiance went on his bike to go meet this driver so he can follow him. when he got there the driver asked him and i quote ‘ how are you gonna fit the furniture on the bike’??????? When he finally came to deliver the furniture there was a piece that needed to be assembled and he casually told us sorry he can’t help because he needs to be in Sandton in half an hour.
    You would think that that was all but no… they phone me about my d/o and just want to confirm the date after I told them it must go off on the first, I get told its for the 31st and not to worry they will change it, then I get another call no soory they cant change it I must pay cash and the next month it will go off on the right date. Then I go and pay the cash 3 days later I get an sms to remind me to pay the cash which I already paid and I found out my d/o also went off….
    What is wrong with you people????
    I hope I get a reply to this because if I dont im taking this furthur!!!

I would have thought that your services would have been improved by now,after so many complaints and you guys are still not treating your clients as they deserve to be treated. I bought a bedroom suite at Russells in Mabopane, the handles are broken, the mattress is making sounds and I have laid complaints, I don’t know how many times but no one ever came to my house to check on your goods. I’m paying my account very well and I have now decided to stop paying as I’m not happy with the goods and your so called services. I missed one payment and you were so quick to call me and tell me that I should pay. How dare you, if only you were that quick to fix your mistakes!!!

  36. Dear Sir, I am so disappointed in the service we are getting from the Caledon branch. My friend Ms van Coppenhagen and myself each bought a lounge set. From day one the personnel have been lying of the delivering dates. Every time we have made arrangement to receive the furniture – just to be disappointed again. Eventually when my friend received hers it was damage and she sent it back. The last delivering date for mine again was last week, but all in vain – nothing yet. We have no problem if thy give us a valid reason why it can not be delivered, but stop the promising and then feeble excuses why it is not delivered. It is a pity that a company gets a poor image because of incompetent personnel.

  39. i am a disgruntled customer who has taken a loan from russells jdg and i recently paid my loan in full and settled more than my settlement amount . a couple of thousands was paid extra which when i contacted your call centre said they would transfer to me 3-14 days and have not heard from them yet. they acknowledged i paid extra but cant inform me how much but i viewed my statement and realised i paid way extra, furthermore the call centr assured me my debit order wont go thru but it did and now they wont refund my debit order how unfair is this . i would like to report this to the consumer protection act and the ombudsman very dissappointed.

  40. We bought a Danielle bedroom suite from Russels in Malvern, Durban and when it was delivered to us we were shocked at what we saw,
    1) there was damage on the side of the dressing table,
    2) the side table’s drawers don’t fit,
    3) on the one side table the dells are about half an inch pulled out of the frame
    4) and the headboard has water damage.
    After they charged me R870 for delivery and I’m situated within a 1km radius from them, and this is the condition I receive the goods.
    Of all the years that I have dealt with Russels this is the worst service and delivery ever.

    SOME ADVICE:”ALWAYS CHECK YOUR GOODS BEFORE SIGNING THAT YOU’VE RECEIVED IT, NO MATTER HOW IMPATIENT THE DELIVERY GUYS ARE!”

  45. hi , i dont know if this letter will even help….I am many many years n customer, i have 5 acounts and pay them like clockwork. So here are my storie, i bought a 3 peace leather set from 13 thousand rand at stilfontein branch and was only used for guest, but it gave problemes, on the 28 of Januarie , they picked up my lounge suite, 2 weaks later , they told me they cant fix it and i can pic as n new one, ( witch i actualy did and 2 my shame a more exsprensef one, so then my problems starter, CHINA mall wanted to have a loock at is first (with i understand) but they was nog willing 2 come and pic uo only one lounge suite ,and they didn’t 2want to give a REFRENCE number before they had a loock at it, in the meand thime i sttil paid my acount from over 900 rands. it realy has cost me 100 of rands to fone the head offece m the branch nearlu every day , only to get another storie> finally on THUESDAY they said i can come and sine the papers for the 2th time and that have REFERENCE NUMBER (SO THEY SAY) my problem is, if i am lucky maybe i wil gett my lounge suite on monday after 2 and n half months if there isn’t ANTOTHER PROBLEM) I Am so disapointed being that i am am old customer and have always use just russels, if you email i will give you my husbands ID number. i dont know what to tell you more only that i am sad ,my husband wanted to by me a new tv room lounge suit.witch i think he wont even consider now, maybe you will answer me , but my hope is not up, every time i fone some from my branch, to headoffice, every body tell me they wil be calling me back < i am, stil waiting
