Biometrics Have Revolutionised Access Control
Biometrics has now almost completely displaced other methods of access control. Conventional systems that require a PIN or password or the use of a coded key card are not secure because it is so easy to steal someone’s credentials. These systems rely on things the users have to either remember or carry on their person and leaves lots of opportunity for identity theft.
Biometrics systems like Sagem’s latest products are both cost-effective and very easy to use. PC-based USB systems that are portable are very convenient but the fixed indoor and weather-proof outdoor systems also serve their purpose very well. Biometric fingerprint access control systems such as these are extremely difficult to circumvent.
