Chipping is employed in the tuning of Toyota engines
All modern cars (and a great deal of older ones) employ fully digital engine management that controls spark timing, fuel supply and often valve timing too. All these systems are controlled by a central engine control unit. The fortunate benefit of electronic engine control is that it is possible to tune engines for better power and economy by fitting a Unichip. A Unichip optimizes the engine ECU’s settings to improve both power and economy. Like most brands, Toyota tuning is not performed at the factory; instead, a standard program is loaded onto the vehicle, leaving room for significant improvements.
