Walter Sisulu Environmental Centre | Mamelodi
Walter Sisulu Environmental Centre is an environmental education centre that aims to develop community conservationists. The centre is an environmentally friendly building that demonstrates appropriate environmentally friendly technology, thermal comfort, natural and energy efficient lighting, natural ventilation, solar power in the energy room and solar hot water heaters for the bathrooms.
There is also an auditorium, administration office, computer room, water wise ablution facilities, four environmental theme rooms focused on water, waste, biodiversity and energy with an outdoor Living Classroom.
The mission is to develop awareness amongst the youth to inspire and motivate them to preserve and utilise the wealth of our natural heritage.
