Dear Sir,
I have been diagnosed with Syringomyelia which is a very painfull tumor in the spinal cord. This is on a scale of pain 1 – 10, a 24 hour daily average of a 7 ot 8. I can still walk, but very very difficult. I have been using crutches up to now, to lift a bit of my weight off my back. A friend of mine suggested that I should try and get hold of a wheelchair, to aid me in moving up and down in the house, as well as when I have to go to town.
I have experienced for the last year now, that If I keep myself still during the day, minimum walking that my pain is less than usual, so this would definately help.
I am financially not well off, so I can not afford a expensive chair, I also don’t have a medical aid, I have to pay all my medical costs myself.
Can you suggest a chair for me, and please a quotation, so that I can see if I will be able to buy it? I would really, really appreciate this. I am alone at home most of the time, so every time I need to use the toilet, or get a glass of water from the kitchen, is pure hell. I cannot begin to explain the pain I have to endure on a daily basis, and this has been going on for the last 3 years, since I fell. I saw the Neurologist from Steve Biko Academic hospital on friday, the 27th, and he just confirmed that there is basically nothing they can do right now.
The operation that they can do, is very risky, and can leave me paralised for life, and if left untreated, it will only grow worse, and will leave me paraplegic in time.
Please sir, could you possibly email me at your earliest convenience.
Kind Regards,
Wilna de Wet

Wow, cool points. I will thank that person who said I should visit your blog. Thanks for the useful ideas. BTW – I discovered some good advice and tips on back pain relief here: info-backpain.com/back-pain-relief
My mother fell from the footbridge that crosses the freeway November last year. She is been discharged from the hospiatl and we are told to look for a wheelchair to rent. If you can help please send me a quotation of standard wheelchair.
